Who builds it
Hi, I’m Ryan, and I build and run Level Count. I’m a web developer, not a contractor, and I haven’t built these projects myself. What I enjoy is making tools that people actually find useful. I started Level Count to help people buy the right amount for a project, without extra trips to the store or a pile of leftovers, and to earn a modest income from ads along the way.
Because I’m not a tradesperson, the calculators don’t rest on my judgment. Every number comes from a building code, an industry guide or the manufacturer’s own instructions, and the source is linked on the page with the date it was checked. Where no published figure exists, the page says so and marks the number as a placeholder.
What this site is
Level Count is a small set of calculators for common outdoor projects: decks, roofs, shed slabs, paver patios, privacy fences and retaining walls. We’d rather build a few pages properly than hundreds of thin ones. Each calculator draws your project, lists what to buy and shows the source behind every number, with the date we last checked it.

Level Count is published by Cactech LLC. Questions, corrections and suggestions are welcome on the contact page.
How the site makes money
The calculators are free. We plan to show ads and, in places, link to tools and materials as an affiliate. Neither ever changes a calculation. Affiliate links are labeled where they appear.
